Abstract: | A rapid clonal propagation system has been developed for Litsea cubeba. Following investigation of a range of cytokinins and a variety of explant sources (shoot tip, node, leaf and petiole) it was established that 6-benzyladenine with shoot tip explants gave optimal multiple-shoot induction. In vitro rooting on growth-regulator-free medium was possible and over 100 plantlets were successfully weaned to the glasshouse.
