| Abstract: | Direct asymmetric aldol reaction of acetone with aromatic aldehydes was achieved in good yields and high enantioselectivity using 5-amino-5-deoxy-beta-L-ido-(alpha-D-gluco)-heptofuranuronic acids as a new class of organocatalysts. |
