Abstract:Specific allogeneic transplantation antigens were solubilized and shown to inhibit the migration of alloimmune macrophages. Alloimmune macrophages treated with trypsin prior to antigen exposure migrated in the presence of the specific soluble antigens. The arming of nonimmune macrophages and the rearming of trypsinized immune macrophages with hyperimmune serum was readily observable using the migration inhibition test, whereas immune serum was ineffective.
