| Abstract: | The ultrastructure of the salt gland of Frankenia has been investigated.Glands were examined after treatment with distilled water andafter 4 h, 15 h, and 36 h of salt treatment. Characteristiccytoplasmic features can be correlated with each of these treatments.The results suggest that the acquisition and maintenance ofthe secreting state involves the vesiculation of endoplasmicreticulum. |
