| Abstract: | A rodent model for the development of the larval stages of human taeniid tapeworms would help advance immunodiagnosis in human and domestic animals and vaccine development for cysticercosis cellulosae or bovis in domestic animals. Here, Akira Ito and Mamoru Ito review recent results demonstrating the potential of the severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mouse for supporting development of the larval stages of Taenia saginata asiatica, T. saginata and T. solium. |
