| Abstract: | The development of yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) cloning vectors capable of carrying several hundred kilobase-pairs of DNA insert has greatly facilitated the study of complex genomes, and the cloning of large genes as single fragments. In addition, the ability to manipulate YAC sequences by homologous recombination makes this system extremely useful for the generation of disease models. |
