Abstract:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major cause of morbidity and the fourth leading cause of death worldwide with multiple comorbidities including cardiovascular diseases. Therefore it is interesting to monitor both cardiorespiratory parameters and physical activity of patients, during intensive physical exercises and also during normal daily activities. But to monitor the patient in his daily life, we need a system that can be used autonomously by the patient at home. Such monitoring can benefit from a network of collaborative sensors. We therefore propose a system composed of multiple medical sensors wirelessly interconnected to a Master device, in order to acquire medical data in daily life or in supervised medical exams.
