| Abstract: | Outstanding uncertainties in the widely employed Simha (J. Phys. Chem. 44 (1940) 25) function for the viscosity increment r of macromolecules as modelled by axially symmetric ellipsoids are resolved. A simple development of the analysis also reveals an interesting relationship between nu and the translational frictional property of macromolecules. |
