Abstract: | A portable, immersible incubator to measure the primary productivity of phytoplankton is described. Battery operated, inexpensive, it is designed to overcome the problem of changes in natural illumination. Tested over three years, using the 14C-technique, it is now successfully used in research work on South Wales rivers. This incubator is not submersible. |
