Abstract: | Grain yields of the rice cultivar Prakash were improved upon inoculation with Glomus intraradices and G. fasciculatum, by 11% and 8%, respectively, compared with an uninoculated control. The results indicate that the amount of phosphate fertilizer usually applied to rice may be decreased by 50%, without affecting yield, if G. intraradices is inoculated. The authors are with the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK Campus, Bangalore 560 065, India. ing author. |
