Abstract: | Naturally occurring toxins and nematode-destroying fungi are the two major factors controlling soil nematode populations. Nematode-destroying fungi fall into two groups - hyphal forms, producing traps which capture nematodes, and endoparasitic forms, both common in natural soils. Nematode-destroying fungi have been used in attempts to control levels of pathogenic nematodes in agricultural soils with limited success. |
