Interactions between poly(Gly-Pro-Pro) triple helices: a model for molecular packing in collagen

Potential-energy calculations are reported on the interaction between two collagenlike triple-stranded poly(Gly-L-Pro-L-Pro) helices. Short helices can pack in a variety of orientations, but there is a unique parallel packing arrangement of the two helices for longer polypeptide chains.
