| Abstract: | SYNOPSIS. Blastocrithidia triatomae n. sp. found in the digestive tract of T. infestans in Argentina is described. Cysts attached to the flagellum, a conspicuous characteristic of the new species, are described and shown in photomicrographs. Since T. infestans may harbor both T. cruzi and B. triatomae, or either one independently, it is essential that they be distinguished in xenodiagnosis. |
