Abstract: | The implications of Greenhouse warming upon indoor climate control are examined with emphasis upon climatic adjustment in thermal comfort. Maps of Europe are shown for doubled CO2 scenarios, together with first order estimates of possible energy savings. Comment is passed upon appropriate building design. This paper was prepared as an invited (not delivered) Solco Tromp memorial lecture to the ISB Vienna Congress of 1990. Hence for reasons of sentiment and convenience, it focuses upon Europe and centres on Tromp’s homeland, at the 5th meridian east, and the 52 nd parallel north |
