| Abstract: | Temperature gradients as high as 2.2°C/cm were observed within Walker 256 mammary carcinoma in vivo, when the tumours were heated at one end by a diathermic lamp. When the blood supply to the tumour was interrupted, the temperature gradients increased as expected, due to lack of cooling effect caused by blood. A mathematical model described these data adequately. |
