Abstract:Objective To compare the differences in intestinal flora between patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and healthy people and provide reference for follow up research. Methods The 16S rDNA amplicon sequencing method was used to analyze the differences in intestinal flora between the two groups (PCOS group and healthy control group). Results Compared with the healthy control group, the alpha diversity of the intestinal flora in PCOS group was lower. The abundance of Firmicutes and Actinobacteria was higher than that of the healthy group, and the abundance of Bacteroidetes was lower than that of the healthy group (all P0.05). The abundances of intestinal Proteobacteria, Bacillus and Colibacillus were higher, while that of Bacteroidia was lower in PCOS group than in healthy control group respectively (all P0.05). Conclusion The patients with polycystic ovary syndrome have imbalance of intestinal flora which may be a potential risk factor for PCOS.
