Abstract: | Summary By taking special precautions it was possible to obtain dispersed growth of the filamentous sewage fungus Fusarium aquaeductuum in a chemostat. The growth followed the Monod theory. However, there appeared to be slight anomalies in maximum specific growth rate and yield factor. An extremely low Ks value of 0.3 mg glucose/l was found which is suggested to be of ecological significance for the occurrence of the organism in polluted, yet oxygen rich rivers. |
