Abstract: | Gene amplification is an experimental strategy for increasing protein production in mammalian cells. Co-amplification of the target gene by genetically linking it to one or more selectable and amplifiable genetic markers is a particularly successful strategy. A number of papers published in the past year or two illustrate the use of gene amplification to achieve high levels of expression. |
