Abstract: | The relative contributions of cytochrome (Cyt) oxidase, cyanide-insensitiveoxidase and residual oxidase to the total respiration of isolatedleaf cells were determined in order to integrate them into amathematical model. During cell incubation, the contributionof cyanide-insensitive oxidase decreased whereas the latentactivity of the enzyme increased. Carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenyl-hydrazonemainly stimulated the Cyt oxidase activity but did not releasethe latent activity of cyanide-insemitive oxidase.
