Abstract: | Secretion of the lysosomal enzyme hexosaminidase is induced by amphotericin B in mouse spleen adherent cells that show a significant increase in their candidacidal activity. The stimulation of beta-hexosaminidase is both time and dose dependent. Amphotericin B treatment did not change hexosaminidase expression that is represented mainly by "A-type" hexosaminidase in macrophages, on the basis of its biochemical properties. |
