| Abstract: | Surface water was used as drinking-water supplies now because of excessive extraction of the reduced ground water. We investigated virus contamination in the surface water from four sampling spots once a month from November 1986 to October 1988. The results were as following: Miyun reservoir 0-0.62PFU/L, Huairou reservoir 0-1.77PFU/L, Guanting reservoir at Sanjiadian 0-2.68PFU/L, and Lake Tuancheng 0-0.73PFU/L. These results suggest that virus contamination in drinking-water supplies in Beijing is currently not obvious as compared with that from Shanghai and abroad. They provide the basic reference for the protection of water supplies and quality control of tap water in Beijing. |
