Isoflavonoids from Phaseolus coccineus

Abstract:After treatment with CuCl2, the following isoflavonoids have been isolated from the runner bean, Phaseolus coccineus: daidzein, genistein, isoprunetin, 2′-hydroxygenistein, phaseoluteone, 2′-hydroxydihydrodaidzein, isoferreirin, kievitone, cyclokievitone, glycinol, phaseollidin, phaseollin, demethylvestitol, phaseollinisoflavan, 2′-hydroxyisoprunetin and 7,4′-dihydroxy-5,2′-dimethoxyisoflavanone. The latter two compounds are novel natural products.
