In lieu of a comprehensive technical assessment, this report of the American Medical Association (AMA) Council on Scientific Affairs reviews the issue of electromagnetic interference (EMI) with medical devices caused by the use of wireless radio-frequency (RF) equipment such as cellular telephones, 2-way radios, and pagers.
