Abstract: | Chromatin-associated and cytosolic ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) of corn and bean plants was differentially increased by four growth regulators, gibberellic acid, benzyladenine, -indoleacetic acid and abscisic acid. The increases occasioned by these substances was more profound in the roots, especially in the chromatin fraction. The maximal increase of chromatin-associated ODC activity was four- to five-fold, while the increase of cytosolic ODC activity was two-fold. |
