Abstract: | Mature zygotic embryos of Liriope platyphylla Wang et Tang formed embryogenic calluses at a frequency of 33% when cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 4.52 μM 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Upon transfer to half-strength MS basal medium, embryogenic calluses gave rise to numerous somatic embryos, which then developed into plantlets. Regenerated plantlets were successfully transferred to potting soil, where they were subsequently grown to maturity. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date. |
