| Abstract: | An enantiomerically enriched pyrimidyl alkanol with either S or R configurations was obtained stochastically from the reaction between pyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde and diisopropylzinc in the presence of achiral silica gel in conjunction with asymmetric autocatalysis with amplification of chirality. |
