Abstract:Significant advances have been made during the past year in the genetic and molecular dissection of the plant circadian system. Several proteins involved in circadian clock regulation have been identified and the way that their interactions contribute to temporal organization is starting to emerge. In addition, genomic approaches have identified hundreds of genes under clock control, providing a molecular basis to our understanding of how the clock coordinates plant physiology and development with daily and seasonal environmental cycles.
