Abstract: | SYNOPSIS. An albino mutation of Blepharisma intermedium (a dark red ciliate) has been isolated. The inheritance of factors controlling pigmentation, mating-type, and lethality level of sexually derived offspring has been studied. All 3 traits are inherited in a non-Mendelian manner, perhaps via the cytoplasm. |
