Abstract:The prevalence of Sarcocystis sp. was assessed in foxes from northern Croatia (city of Varazcarondin). The intestine of 50 (29 male and 21 female) foxes aged 1–5 years, killed during the rabies control campaign, were examined. Sarcocystis sp. was identified in 62% of the fox intestinal samples examined. There was no sex difference in the rate of invasion. However, the rate of invasion differed significantly between the animals aged 1 year (47%), and those aged 2 (71%) and 3–5 years (71%).
