Communities of Chironomid larvae in the Velika Morava river

The following communities of Chironomid larvae were found: psamorheophile, psamophile, pelorheophile, pelophile and phytorheophile. They differ according to both their coenotical composition and the number of organisms, and show a particular distribution along the river course in correlation with the type of substrate. The most widespread are the psamorheophile communities and the most restricted the phytorheophile ones.
