Abstract: | Tubulin is a useful model system to study control of gene expression and the evolution of gene families. Using Chlamydomonas α- and β-tubulin cDNA as hybridization probes, we show that the multiple tubulin genes in Crithidia fasciculata are dispersed on the genome. This is in contrast to the tandem arrangement of these genes found in the closely related species, Leishmania and Trypanosoma |
