Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the effects of w-3PUFAs on the anxiety and depression-like behaviors of rats with PTSD-SPS.Methods: Forty male SD rats were randomly and equally divided into 4 groups: control group,PTSD-SPS group,60 % w-3PUFAs + PTSD-SPS group 1,60 % w-3PUFAs + PTSD-SPS group 2.The behavioral changes were evaluated by the EPM test sys-tem and the OF test system. Results: In the EPM test, the number of entering the open-arm and the open-arm detention time in the PTSD-SPS group were significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The time of resting on the center lattice and times of spanning lattice in the SPS group decreased(5.56 ± 0.21) s and(30.23 ± 5.96) times in the OF test(P<0.05),respectively.The num-ber of entering the open-arm and the open-arm detention time in the w-3PUFAs group were significantly lower than that of the SPS group(P<0.05) in the EPM test. The time of resting on the center lattice and times of spanning lattice were increased(9.88 ± 1.14) s and(43.22 ±4.35) times in the OF test(P<0.05),respectively.There were no significance difference between the w-3PUFAs group and the control group. Conclusion: Dietary Supplement of w-3PUFAs could reduce the anxiety and depression-like behaviors of PTSD-SPS model rats.
