| Abstract: | An enzymic prostaglandin E1 metabolising system in human plasma is described. Various properties of the system have been investigated. Metabolism of prostaglandin E1 added to whole human blood or plasma, particularly in low concentrations such as those found physiologically, can be extremely rapid and extensive. The importance of these findings in relation to the extraction of prostaglandins from human blood or plasma is discussed. |
