Abstract: | The C1300 mouse neuroblastoma cell line was found to produce plasminogen activator which is secreted into the growth medium. The intra- and extracellular activities of this enzyme were markedly increased (up to 14 fold) by treatment with cyclic AMP agents. Prostaglandins E1 and E2 and butyric acid were the most efficient inducers followed by propionic acid and dibutyryl cyclic AMP. Theophylline was found to be ineffective. The highest enzyme activities were found in cells exposed simultaneously to prostaglandin E1 and dibutyryl cyclic AMP. |
