Abstract:
Glucose tolerance factor (GTF), the biologically active form of chromium, is an essential dietary agent that potentiates the action of insulin and thereby functions in regulating carbohydrate metabolism. Dietary trends that show increased consumption of more highly processed foods may be leading to deficiencies of'GTF and chromium in man.
