| Abstract: | A regioisomeric set of 2-naphthylcarbapenems featuring cationic substituents was synthesized. Optimal placement of the cationic group was found to markedly improve activity against methicillin-resistant staphylococci while maintaining a good spectrum of gram-negative activity. |
