An algorithm of radiation and endoscopic diagnosis of colonic tumors

By analyzing the results of examination and treatment in 87 patients, the authors show the potentialities of radiation and endoscopic studies in the diagnosis of malignant and benign tumors of the large bowel. The algorithm developed on the basis of the complex, multistage, goal-oriented use of radiation and endoscopic studies in terms of its specific features may timely and early detect malignant colonic tumors and preliminary rank them in accordance with the international TNM classification, to perform adequate treatment, and to monitor benign space-occupying lesions.
