Abstract: | A rare "sclerosing hemangioma" of the lung in a 24-year-old man was initially interpreted as a bronchioloalveolar carcinoma by fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology. The similarity of these two tumors in fine needle aspirates is discussed. Benign sclerosing hemangioma should be considered in the differential diagnosis when numerous atypical proliferating bronchiolar or alveolar cells are obtained by FNA. |
