| Abstract: | In Nannacara anomala rods and single and double cones as well as the horizontal cells are arranged in a regular pattern. During dark adaptation only the single cones move distally and leave their places to the rods. Each unit consisting of 4 double cones, 1 single cone and 4 rods has its own horizontal cell; each double cone however, belongs to two of these units at the same time.
