Abstract: | A method has been developed to study aluminium (A1) toxicity towards Rhizobium. This involves growth in broth followed by washing and measurement of cell viability in deionized distilled water plus A1. The results illustrate the high degree of sensitivity and rapid response of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar trifolii and R. loti to A1 under acid conditions but confirm earlier results on the relative tolerance of these two species. |
