Abstract: | ABSTRACT. Pure adipokinetic hormone (AKH) extracted from the glandular lobes of locusts induces hyperglycaemia in cockroaches. Larger doses (20–200 pmol) of AKH are required to induce hyperglycaemia in the cockroach than are required to produce hyperlipaemia in locusts (1–20 pmol). |
