| Abstract: | An Electron Paramagnetic Relaxation study of the competitive equilibria of Cu(II) and Mn(II) towards imidazole and methyl-imidazole was carried out. ΔH, a, I and lineshape variations were studied in order to define the extent and the limits of the metal ions interaction with nucleobases. The EPR evidence of a major affinity of Cu(II) with respect to Mn(II) in binding to nucleobases was demonstrated. |
