Abstract:Specific antibodies were prepared against a bitter peptide, which had been previously isolated from tryptic hydrolysates of casein coprecipitate. The antibodies were immobilised by covalent attachment to Sepharose 4B and the resulting immunoadsorbents were able to remove bitterness from these hydrolysates. However, it was not possible to completely remove absorbed bitter peptide from the immunoadsorbents even when using strongly deforming solvents.
