Abstract: | Two 2,3-unsubstituted chromones were isolated from the reddish leaves and stems of glasswort (Salicornia europaea L.) and, on the basis of chemical and spectral evidences and syntheses of both of the compounds, they were identified to be 6,7-methylenedioxychromone and 6,7-dimethoxychromone, respectively. This is the first report which shows the natural occurrence of these two chromones. |
