New cardenolides from seeds of Corchorus trilocularis

From the seeds of Corchorus trilocularis, subjected to autofermentation, two crystalline glycosides were isolated. The major glycoside is new and named trilocularin, the minor identical with corchoroside B. Trilocularin was shown to be the 3-O-β-d-boivinoside of canarigenin from chemical and spectral evidence.
