Abstract:Samples from living populations of the ostracod Cyprideis torosa, taken at various inland brackish-water localities in The Netherlands, are biometrically analyzed. A negative correlation is found between the mean size of the carapace (adult females) and the salinity level of the environment. The results are discussed and compared with published data on the size-salinity relationship in ostracods.
