| Abstract: | The genes for utilization of xylose were transferred from Pachysolen tannophilus to Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The hybrids resembled the S. cerevisiae parent morphologically and in sugar assimilation. Pulsed field gel electrophoresis showed that the chromosome banding pattern was intermediate between the two parental species.Correspondence to: H. Heluane |
