| Abstract: | Streptomyces species offer many potential advantages as hosts for the expression and secretion of eukaryotic gene products. In this review we discuss the expression and localization signals that have been used to direct heterologous gene expression and the applications of these signals. Finally, we discuss future strategies aimed at increasing the capacity of this host for the high level production of biologically active eukaryotic gene products. |
