Abstract:The 2 5 oligoadenylate system provides a universal response in mammals. 2 5A synthetase polymerizes ATP to a series of 2 5 oligoadenylate (2 5A). 2 5A activates a latent endoribonuclease (RNase L) which degrades viral RNA. In this paper the result of cloning and sequencing of the murine 2 5 oligoadenylate gene was reported. There are three different points between the nucleotide sequence of the cloned murine 2 5 oligoadenylate gene. The amino acid homology of murine 2 5A synthetase with human 2 5A synthetase was 68%. The C terminal portion of murine 2 5 A synthetase containes a hydrophilic region and a possible glycosylation site.
