| Abstract: | Protoachlya nainitalensis isolated from mixed oak forest soil (Quercus leucotrichophora & Q. floribunda) is described herein. The species is characterised by elongated, cylindrical, smooth walled zoosporangia; spherical and smooth walled oogonia with androgynous and rarely diclinous branches of antheridia. A simplified key of the known Protoachlya species has also been established. |
